About
Totus Solutions designs and develops intelligent streetlight software systems for micro-grid solutions. Besides providing a greener solution for streetlights, its software platform provides additional services including surveillance and multiple monitoring solutions, as well as enhancing safety of citizens and security for critical infrastructure.
Thesis
Totus’ LED light solution improves energy savings significantly compared to traditional street-lighting. In addition, its software platform creates smart lighting. It enables multiple intelligent functions ranging from basic surveillance, communication, wi-fi to as deep as nuclear sensoring, basically adding an entire app ecosystem to streetlights.

Product
Totus’ intelligent LED streetlight-based Security Platforms offer superior performance, plus unmatched system-level benefits for the deployment of high-def, mega-pixel IP cameras, “edge-based” media storage, analytics, and information management for Surveillance Grids. Attributes include: (1) edge-based media storage that reduces required bandwidth and centralized server-based storage; (2) significant energy and maintenance savings versus traditional HPS outdoor lighting; (3) long operating life and high reliability; (4) “best in class” surveillance-grade lighting; (5) modular design for superior serviceability; and (6) intelligent, “open” systems architecture enabling rapid expansion and operation of “best-of-breed” secure wireless communications, advanced surveillance, image recognition, and video analytics.
Potential
The increasing need for security is driving the growth of video surveillance. The video surveillance market is expected to grow to $37.7 billion in 2015 at a CAGR of 20.4%. The camera accounted for almost 47% of the total video surveillance market in 2008 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 21.1% from 2010 to 2015. The software market is expected to grow at the fastest rate with a CAGR of 21.7% from 2010 to 2015 owing to the introduction of video analytics which makes the video surveillance system intelligent.
With a compound annual growth rate of 22%, the LED luminaire market is expected to reach $8.3 billion in 2014.

How Big Can This Be?
Totus is introducing an entirely new concept by marrying energy efficient street-lighting with apps for monitoring and security. This clearly represents a market opportunity for tens of billion of dollars, and Totus is on the forefront of this emerging concept.
Predictability
While still early in its development, Totus has secured a strong backlog for the near term, and has attracted high interest from potential partners on a global basis. To date, Totus has partnered with large and established partners. Global expansion is already rolling out and is likely to accelerate in the near term.
Risks
Totus is in its very early stage and needs to prove it can deliver on expectations. Revenue generation is still in its infancy and management execution will be key in the next 18 months.
